Each of the 12 signs of the zodiac are designated to one of the three modalities – Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable
Astrologers look to the breakdown of how many planets are in each modality to get a broad-stroke understanding of how a person interacts with life. Are you a go-getter (strong cardinal), stubborn and slow to change direction (fixed), or constantly morphing (mutable).
